The Partnership is a public purpose, nonprofit 501 (c)4 corporation with the mission to develop and implement strategies and programs that accelerate the growth of advanced transportation technologies.

Established in 1994, The Partnership works closely with transportation and transit agencies, federal, state and local government, air quality agencies and the private sector in the implementation and operation of various strategies that play a role of improving air quality, reducing congestion and improving transportation system performance.

Over the years the Partnership has established a meaningful Application Service Provider (ASP) service utilizing Internet web applications. Meaning that third parties, customers, clients, consumers and interested parties can supply and access information housed on The Partnership's and partner's hosted web and data servers.

The Partnership operates the ASP service in the Los Angeles region for online web based transit trip planning itinerary services using the brand names TranStar, TANN, VCTC Transit routing, Metrolink Itineraries and in Jacksonville Florida, the Jacksonville Transit Authority Trip Planner. This transit itinerary service provides the transit operators and the general public with a convenient cost effective access to regional transit schedules and requested transit itineraries.

The ASP service, Travel Advisory News Network (TANN), was created 5 years ago in partnership with Caltrans, OCTA, MTC, AZTECH and other public agencies plus the private sector to supply web based real time traffic congestion speeds, incidents, and camera images displayed on maps that appear on third party web sites. PDAs, WAP phones and broadcast television systems such as KABC7-TV in Los Angeles.
