Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee
Since formed in 1990, the MSRC has allocated over $107 million toward the implementation of projects that reduce mobile source emissions. Approximately half of the funds allocated to projects, selected in response to over 60 RFP solicitations, have gone to support the conversion of vehicles to clean fuels and the creation of the supporting infrastructure. To date, approximately 10,700 tons of emissions have been reduced as a result of the MSRC’s investments. This has brought both local and national recognition.

MSRC programs are funded through California Assembly Bill 2766, which each year, through vehicle registration fees, generates approximately $12 million to support innovative projects that reduce air pollution from motor vehicles operating within Southern California’s South Coast Air District. The MSRC, with the assistance of the Technical Advisory Committee, establishes and adopts Work Programs and recommended RFPs for the distribution of these funds. Once approved by the Governing Board of the SCAQMD, RFPs are released and proposals are solicited from both public sector and private parties for competitive review and award.

For additional information on the MSRC and an up-to-the-minute status of current RFPs, we suggest you check out the MSRC site at www.msrc-cleanair.org.
