Smart for Commuters. Smart for Communities.

Shuttles aren’t new…
“Smart” Shuttles are new…
“Smart” Shuttles are better…

“Smart Shuttles” is a term to describe a new system of transit providing access within and between major centers of commerce, transportation and employment. The transit services may range from shared ride taxis to 12-passenger shuttles depending on the center location, characteristics and demand.

“Smart Shuttles” can offer “smarter” service by utilizing new advanced automated vehicle location, dispatching and communications technologies on board and in control centers to facilitate the delivery of timely, on-demand service.

Smart Shuttles can offer commuters:

  • an alternative to the stress of driving and parking a vehicle
  • a convenient connection to other transit modes
  • potential money saving

Smart Shuttles have the potential to help businesses:

  • attract more customers
  • attract more employees
  • alleviate parking space demands

Smart Shuttles can help communities:

  • attract businesses
  • satisfy the communal needs of residents

The Partnership has been actively involved with numerous Smart Shuttle Pilot Programs and Demonstration Projects over the last five years and we’ve put all the valuable information that we’ve collected into a very helpful brochure. In addition to providing planning and funding resources and helpful case studies, this brochure addresses:

  • operating options
  • service concepts
  • management alternatives
  • marketing platforms
  • supporting technologies
  • implementation strategies

This 16-page color brochure is free to anyone making a request in the ordering section of our Contact Us page.
